Custom Takeaway Coffee Cup Holder with Dessert Combo Box
This coffee cup carrier combines a secure drink holder with a separate food compartment. A circular aperture grips the cup while a support panel keeps it upright during transport. The adjacent deep well holds desserts or snacks, separated by a full-height wall to prevent contact with condensation or crumbs. An upright arched back flap provides extra branding space, turning ordinary takeout boxes into attractive counter displays. Made from food-grade kraft or corrugated board, it folds flat for storage and can also be produced as bakery boxes or donut boxes using the same die. For buyers seeking a practical cardboard cup holder with room for food, this 2-in-1 design offers a convenient solution. MOQ: 10,000 pcs.
A Cup Platform and a Food Well in One Blank
The box is one piece of board, not two boxes glued together. One end is scored into a horizontal platform with a circular aperture die-cut through it; the other end folds up into an open well with four walls. The platform and the well share the same base panel, so the weight of a full cup passes straight down into the box bottom instead of hanging on a glued joint. That is the difference between a cardboard cup holder that survives a delivery run and one that opens at the seam. Assembly takes seconds: raise the walls, seat the base tabs, drop the cup in.
An Arched Back Flap That Sells the Box
At the rear of the well, a tall flap is scored to stand upright and cut into a half-round at the top. It is not a lid and does not fold over the food; it is a display panel that rises above the rim and holds itself there. That gives a brand a flat, uninterrupted surface for a logo, a menu line or a QR code, printed on both faces so it reads from the counter and from the customer's hand. On a shelf of plain takeout boxes, a standing arch is the part that gets noticed first. It also stiffens the back wall, so the box resists bowing when it is carried full.
Board Grade, Coating and the Cup Load
The cup is the heaviest single item in the pack, so the board is chosen around it. Standard food-grade kraft carries a normal 12–16 oz drink without extra help; go up a grade for a large cup, and specify a corrugated flute when the box has to hold a cup and a full dessert well at the same time. The food side is where the coating matters: a grease-resistant layer stops oil from the dessert wicking into the board and dulling the print, while a moisture-resistant option keeps condensation from softening the platform around the aperture. Every bakery boxes run is checked for caliper and moisture before printing.
Flat-Fold Storage and One-Pass Printing
The blank ships flat and is folded at the packing bench, which keeps freight volume and back-of-house storage low for a high-turnover counter. Because the sheet is printed while it is still flat, the artwork crosses the cup aperture, the fold lines and the arch without breaking registration, so a logo that runs over the platform edge stays continuous once the box is up. One die cuts both a single-cup version and a two-cup version by changing the aperture count, so a shop can order donut boxes and a coffee cup carrier from one tool and one artwork. Finishing runs to matte or gloss, with spot UV or foil on the arch.

In-house Production Facility
1. Raw Material Management
Kraft and corrugated sheets arrive checked for caliper, flute height and moisture, then rest in a dry store so they stay flat before cutting. Every lot of coffee cup carrier board is logged against its mill batch, so a stiffness fault traces back to the reel.
2. Printing & Production
Artwork prints on flat sheets first, then the cup aperture, the well walls, the lock tabs and the arched flap are cut in one pass, which is how the aperture stays concentric with the platform. Each cardboard cup holder run is proofed against a cutting template before production.
3. Quality Assurance
Each batch is folded in full, a filled cup is dropped through the aperture and the box is carried by hand, then the well is loaded and tilted. Aperture fit, base lock strength and board stiffness are logged per lot, so a drift on donut boxes production is caught here.
4. Warehousing & Delivery
Finished blanks ship flat in shrink-wrapped bundles, banded by size and artwork version, packed in double-wall cartons and stored off the floor. Cartons are labelled so a mixed takeout boxes order is picked without opening every case, and the flat pack keeps storage space low.
A drink stays upright because the aperture grips it around its full circumference, not at two points. The cup drops through the die-cut circle until its base meets the support panel below, so the box carries the weight from underneath while the platform stops it tilting. Because the circle is cut to the cup's actual body diameter, there is no slack for it to rock in. A standard 12–16 oz cup sits with its rim clear of the platform, so the lid can still be pressed on after loading. Tell us the cup diameter and height, and we will cut the aperture and set the support depth to suit.
Not through the wall, and not from below. The cup well and the food well are separated by a full-height board wall, so water running down the cup lands inside the cup well and drains to the base panel, not into the food. A moisture-resistant coating on the platform and the well stops the board softening around the aperture during a long service. For very wet items, a food-grade liner in the dessert well adds a second barrier. The one thing to avoid is filling the well above the rim, because then the two zones are no longer separated.
Choose by cup size and by whether the box is carried or displayed. A standard food-grade kraft platform holds a normal 12–16 oz cup without extra support. For a 20 oz cup or a heavy reusable one, move to a heavier board and deepen the support panel, so the base takes the load rather than the platform. If the box also carries a full dessert well, a corrugated flute adds stiffness across the whole base at little extra cost. Send us the cup weight and the dessert load, and we will specify the board grade and flute for the run.
Yes. The aperture is a die-cut circle, so it is set from a dimension rather than from a fixed punch. Give us the cup's body diameter at the point where the platform will grip it, and we will cut the circle to that figure with a tolerance that still lets the cup drop in without slack. Apertures are commonly cut for 70 mm, 80 mm, 90 mm, 100 mm and 110 mm cups, and custom diameters run on the same die. The support panel depth is set at the same time, so the cup sits at the height your lid needs.
